Sure…my dogs all competed in dog agility…but they never got to go through a window jump…

Police Dog Agility Washington County Sheriff Police K-9 Trials

Then again, I never got to carry a sidearm with me on an agility course, either…

  1. Wow…that is so cool! What all did they participate in? What breeds of dogs were there? Sounds like a lot of fun!

  2. It was fun! They did police dog agility (which was similar to ‘regular’ agility, but more intense). The dog AND handler both had to do a ‘down’ on the field! I’d like to see the AKC make that a requirement for future trials!

They also did the ‘fastest dog’ competition which was really great to watch. The dogs were at one end of the field and a pseudo-bad-guy was at the other end. The handler would release the dog and let them ‘attack’ the bad guy. The dogs LOVED it! I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be hit by a 60+ pound GSD running at 30+ miles per hour!

All the dogs at this competition were GSD’s imported from Czechoslovakia.
