Merry Christmas To Me–Part 2!
I am blessed to have some very, very good friends from the dog world.
Last week, MBDFINM (My Best Dog Friend I’ve Never Met) sent me THESE.
This week, MBDFIHM (My Best Dog Friend I Have Met) sent me this:
Shannon makes these by needle-felting wool (which is produced by her own flock of sheep). I adore it!
I should mention that both Kim (who painted these GORGEOUS miniature pieces of Cardi art) and Shannon have websites where you can learn more about their art:
I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: Dog friends are the BEST friends!

Merry Christmas–TO ME!
Yesterday I received a package in the mail–from Michigan! It could only be one thing–a gift from my BDFINM (Best Dog Friend I’ve Never Met)!
Kim is a WONDERFUL artist–last year she made a custom Cardi Crew mug for me–it’s far to lovely to actually USE for drinking beverages out of–so it has a special place on my Corgi display shelf.
This year she really outdid herself–I ripped open the box to find three GORGEOUS miniature portraits of my Cardis–they are so detailed and capture the Cardi Crew perfectly! I love how she got all the details right down to Riley’s little spot along the bridge of his nose!
Thank-you so much Kim!

Tis the Season–for making treats!
I always make homemade fudge at Christmas–and a lot of it. I finished my first batch of 6 pounds earlier this week and am ready to make another 6 pounds this weekend.
A few days ago I found a recipe for peanut butter dog-cookie at the “Bob’s Red Mill” store so I made a batch of Cardi-cutouts too. They smelled really good when they were cooking and I was tempted to try them myself–except that they have no sugar in them. Zoey LOVES them–of course, Zoey (like most Corgis) loves just about any food.
“Bob’s Red Mill Peanut Butter Dog Cookies (aka Cardi-cutouts)”
2 cups whole wheat pastry flour
1 cup milk
1 cup peanut butter (I used unsalted, organic, creamy-style)
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder (I used aluminum-free, double acting)
Mix all ingredients together. Roll out dough and use a Cardigan Corgi cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Ringo (The Border Collie)
I am blessed to have TWO “Ringo’s” in my life right now–a wonderful Lab and the lovable Border Collie!

2009 Cardigan Welsh Corgi Calendar is done!
I finished my 2009, “The Corgis of 41st Avenue” calendar tonight. I try to make a custom book or calendar every year at Christmas to give to the staff at the veterinary clinic that I go to. Of course, I always have a few extra copies printed to give out to other friends of the Cardi crew.
I had a calendar made through “Shutterfly” last year and was very happy with the quality of it. They are printed on heavy weight card stock and the colors are quite vivid. I think this year’s Corgi calendar is even better than last years–I can’t wait to get it!
Anyone wanting to take a sneak peak can see it on the Shutterfly site.
(The link seems to be working now–for awhile there tonight it wasn’t).

Christmas Pics-And It’s Not a Corgi
How about a few Christmas pics of Ringo, the Lab?
This would be the, “Leave ‘Father Christmas’ alone, Ringo” photo:

And this would be the, “Good Boy, Ringo” photo:

Happy Holidays!
I originally taught all my dogs the “Take It” and “Hold” commands thinking they’d use them in obedience competitions–while that hasn’t happened, they do come in handy when using photo props!

OF course, SOME dogs are less obedient than others…
